The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2021 official notification has been released by the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. All the GATE 2021 aspirants can check the official brochure on the official website, the link for which is gate.iitb.ac.in. As per the schedule, GATE 2021 examination will be conducted over six days and twelve sessions on February 5th, 6th, 7th, 12th, 13th and 14th.
The online application process for GATE 2021 will begin from
September 14 and the last date to apply for the same is September 30.
Applications will be accepted ONLINE only through GATE 2021 website link GOAPS.
Further, GATE 2021 score card will remain valid for three years
from the date of announcement of results. It is also used by some Public Sector
Undertakings (PSUs) for their recruitment and by several other universities in
India and abroad for admissions.
GATE 2021: Two new subject papers are introduced
- ES (Environmental Science and Engineering)
- XH (Humanities and Social Sciences) in Economics/English/Linguistics/Philosophy/Psychology/ Sociology.
About GATE 2021 examination:
Qualifying in GATE is a mandatory requirement for seeking
admission and/or financial assistance to: (i) Master's programs and direct Doctoral
programs in Engineering/Technology/Architecture and (ii) Doctoral programs in
relevant branches of Arts and Science, in the institutions supported by the MoE
and other Government agencies.
GATE is administered
jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and seven Indian
Institutes of Technology (namely, IITs at Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur,
Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee).
Eligibility criteria for GATE 2021:
A candidate who is currently studying in the 3rd or higher years
of any undergraduate degree program OR has already completed any government
approved degree program in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Science /
Commerce / Arts is eligible for appearing in the GATE 2021 exam.

Age limit criteria:
There is NO age limit to appear for GATE 2021.
How to apply for GATE 2021:
In order to apply online, all the candidates need to follow the
below mentioned steps:
- Go to the website of GOAPS: appsgate.iitb.ac.in
- Click on "New Registration" and enter all the basic details
- Login using your GOAPS Enrolment ID and Password
- Upload photograph, signature and other documents and category certificate (SC / ST /PwD) and / or Dyslexic certificate as applicable.
- Pay the application fee through any of the electronic payment modes
- Click on submit.
GATE 2021: Examination scheme
All the papers of the GATE 2021 examination will be for three
hours duration and they consist of 65 questions for a total of 100 marks. Since
the examination is an ONLINE computer-based test (CBT), at the end of the
stipulated time (3-hours), the computer screen will automatically close the
examination inhibiting any further action.
