HPCL- NEW GENERATION IDEATION CONTEST
ABOUT COMPETETION
HP Green R&D Centre launched an innovation drive in 2019 with a motto to encourage students in India to come up with bright ideas to tackle modern world challenges such as rising energy demands, environmental pollution and growing consumerism. As part of this initiative, HPCL is organizing “New Generation Ideation Contest” to provide a platform for the students and young researchers to share their innovative solutions.
The first edition of the contest was launched in 2019 which received an overwhelming participation from students and researchers alike from all over India. After multiple stages of evaluation, six entries were selected as winners, whereas four ideas were recognized with consolation prizes.
In 2020, HP Green R&D Centre is geared up to launch the second edition of the innovation drive, New Generation Ideation Contest 2020.
In this edition, innovative ideas are invited from researchers, post graduate scholars and under graduate scholars from across the country.

CRITERIA

Who Should Participate?

Competition seeks participation from under graduate students, post graduate students & research scholars from different Institutes, Universities and Colleges, and also from any individuals across India.

How to Submit The Ideas?

Participants should submit the ideas on or before 17th September, 2020.

Instructions:

·         The write-up on Idea should be limited to 1000 words.

·         One participant can submit multiple entries through multiple submissions.

·         Write-up should be original. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.

·         Ideas will be evaluated based on its Novelty, Applicability, Clarity, Scalability and Integration Potential.

·         Shortlisted ideas will be qualified for the next round. The details of next round will be disclosed subsequently.

Prizes will awarded under two categories:
A) Open Category

B) Under Graduate Category

INTERNSHIP AT INDIAN OIL

It is possible of two ways
1) Your institute can directly apply for their students
2) The students can apply using their institute registration id.


INSTITUTE
In case of applications directly from institutes
·         Institutes first need to register and create their ID.
·         Institutes should provide their official mail id of Training and Placement Cell for registering. In case it is found that registration has been done through any personal mail id, registration is liable to be cancelled.
·         After registration, institutes can fill up the names and details of the students they want to nominate for internship at Guwahati Refinery. Please note that from a particular institute, a maximum of 20 students are acceptable for registration at Guwahati Refinery. Institutes may choose to send in more students, but allowing more than 20 students is completely at the discretion of Guwahati Refinery authorities.
STUDENT
In case of Application from students
·         An online application form has to be filled up.
·         Institute name has to be selected from drop down menu. Name of a particular institute shall appear in the drop down menu, only if institute has registered in this website through the official Training & placement mail ID.
·         In case Institute Name doesn't appear in the drop down menu select other from the drop down list, you will be redirected to another page where you can add the details of the Institute. After successful submission you will be redirected to your application form again, now you can select the Institute name from the drop down list and fill up the remaining fields
·         A copy of the last issued marksheet and Institute NOC/Consent letter for internship has to be attached along with the form.
·         After submission of application form, student has to send the hard copy of the document by speedpost.
Note: Merely online submission of the application doesn't ensure successful completion for         internship. Documents must reach the Guwahati Refinery(GR) L&D Centre for       consideration by GR authorities.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
A. Admissible Course, duration and session of internship.
·         BE/ B Tech/ BSc. Engg. Students of 6th semester shall be eligible for summer internship and students of 5th Semester to 7th Semester shall be eligible for winter internship.
·         Students of curriculum as mentioned in Sl. No 2, 3 and 4 below, can apply for internship after 1st sem.

·         Mechanical, Chemical/Petroleum Engineering, Electrical, Instrumentation/ Electronics & Telecommunication, Civil, IT/Comp Sc., F&S engineering of BE/ B Tech/ BSc. Engg students can apply for internship.
·         MBA students pursuing in HR and Finance can apply for internship.
·         M Com, MA (Psychology/ Social Work/ Sociology), M.Sc (Chemistry / Env. Science), MSW and Post graduate diploma in Finance/Management students can apply for internship.
·         5th to 7th semester engineering students and 3rd semester onwards MBA students may apply only.
·         Minimum eligible average percentage for engineering students is 60% till the last semester examination. In case of students of ST/SC category, the minimum eligible average shall be 55%.
·         Minimum eligible average percentage for MBA students is 55% till the last semester examination.

TRAINING/ INTERNSHIP AT BARC

CARRYING OUT PRACTICAL TRAINING/ PROJECT WORK IN BARC


Bhabha Atomic Research Centre is a multidisciplinary organisation and a national laboratory with the prime motive to support the nuclear programme in the country. It extends its expertise to provide great opportunities for research and impart training to students/fellows from academic institutions in order to encourage the growth of scientific/technological research in the country.

Meritorious bonafide students are encouraged to apply for undertaking Practical Training/Project Work in BARC, as a part of their academic curriculum, in various engineering disciplines (namely Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Metallurgy, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Computer) and basic sciences (namely Physics, Chemistry, Bio-science) for duration of not less than one month. Such opportunities are provided to students on an on-availability basis.


No accommodation is offered in the BARC Training School Hostel or Guest House to any student selected for undertaking practical training/project work.

ELIGIBLE CRITERIA:


The following are eligible categories of students who can be accepted for practical training/project work at BARC:

HRDD, BARC forwards applications from bonafide meritorious students for practical training/projects post fifth sem in engg. or first year of PG in sciences to suitable Departments of BARC for screening and approval of Competent Authority of BARC.


From a college, applications of maximum 3 students from the same degree/ subject will be considered.


Min. duration for short term Training/ long term project work as a part of your academic curriculum:
      i.        Mechanical engg – for practical training - 1 month; 3-6 months for project work.
     ii.        Chemical Engg, Civil, Metallurgy, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Physics, Chemistry – for practical training - 2 months; 3-6 months for project work.
    iii.        Computer Sc. & Engg – for practical training - 45 to 60 days.; 3-6 months for project work.
    iv.        Biosciences – 3-6 months.

For screening, students are required to send, 3 months before the desired starting date of project (do not send too early), an application on hard copy on their college letter head duly signed and stamped by the college authority.

It is mandatory to apply in the following format. Applications without this format will not be accepted.

2.     Educational qualifications with marks from X std. onwards up-to-date. Attach latest marksheet.
3.     Skills acquired.
4.     Any training undergone.
5.     Any projects done.
6.     Areas of interest.

Additionally, if it is
For Computer Sc. & Engg - attach all marksheets from X std onwards.
For BioSc – attach all marksheets from X std onwards.

When the Competent Authority accepts you for practical training/project work, you will be informed by email by HRDD alongwith an official acceptance letter with instructions for submission of a set of further documents related to I-Card processing. Students whose applications are rejected at HRDD or those who are not accepted for practical training/project work in BARC for any reason can see the information at http://www.barc.gov.in/student/student_sp.html, as and when it is regularly updated.

Pl. note that the period of training/project work is excluding the processing time of 1 week taken for processing of filled-in documents at HRDD, investigation & I-Card before the student can start training/project work. This means that students who are accepted for 1 month of training cannot report to BARC on the accepted date or just 2 - 3 days before the starting date of training as the processing time reqd. for I-Card will reduce the training period. Hence, if accepted for training/project work in BARC, students will be required to submit the original documents 1 week to 10 days before the actual starting date of practical training or project work. Training for less than the accepted period is strictly not allowed.
