MGR UNIVERSITY- VICE CHANCELLOR |
University
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sudha Seshayan said that the team of the Department of
Immunology (immunology) and senior professors have worked hard for the last
three weeks. This team has detected synthesized polypeptides that prevent the
virus from entering human cells. They reported that synthesized polypeptides
are very important in protein science, which emit a series of certain amino
acids from which the protein is produced. These components bind epitopes of
viral genes. This means that these components become protective shield for the
antigen (antigen) excreted in the body. At present, these facts are based on
artificial experiments.
Reverse Vaccinology
VC said that Dr. Tamanna of the Department of Immunity, Prof. Dr. C. Pushpakala
and Dr. Srinivasan's team are working on reverse vaccination. The process of
finding antigen starts with genome information and now we will start testing in
laboratories. Lab testing will take a few more weeks. After that its study on
animals and then clinical trial will start. Dr. Sudha Seshayan made it clear
that we have passed the first phase of the long journey of commercial
production of vaccines. It will take a year at least for the potential vaccine
to be prepared.
