SOFTWARE FOR A CHEMICAL ENGINEER

Today I am going to share some software that a chemical engineer should have to learn. The main objective of a Bachelor program is to give the basic and fundamentals of chemical engineering discipline. So they are usually not well depth with their concepts.

The use of software is to create a design or simulation of the process. For simulation, the well depth in the concept is must. So usually the company will prefer the PG graduates for the simulation works as they are well known with the concepts.

The UG students can also learn the simulation software. But they must be thorough in their subjects. Because, if you add the software in your resume, then you need to answer for all the arising questions related to that. So be aware in this.

Thus the UG students can learn the design software rather than simulation software. It is my personal opinion. You can learn anything depending upon your wish. But be prepared for the questions.
Now, you can ask what are the software? I list few software that I know.

Design software:
·         Chemcad
·         Microsoft visio

I have one more preference that learning visio is better than cadd. Because visio is simple and easy to learn comparing with cadd and cadd also needs a depth understanding of concepts.

Simulation software:
·         Aspen
·         Aspen hysis
·         COMSOL
·         MAT Lab
